Descendentes de antigas comunidades andinas, preservam sua língua materna e o apego ao cultivo da terra em regime comunitário. Embora grande parte da população se identifique com o cristianismo tradicional, crenças e costumes ancestrais permanecem vivos, evidenciando a carência de um discipulado bíblico que fale ao coração do povo.
