In an Iran marked by religious persecution and economic collapse, pastors are risking their lives to visit isolated believers in different cities across the country. The organization Transform Iran reports that persecution keeps many Christians apart, meeting only in small groups. "It has been very isolating for believers," says Lana Silk, the ministry's director.
Pastoral visits bring spiritual encouragement along with practical help: food, medicine and hygiene supplies. Iran's economic crisis has left many Christian families in desperate circumstances. "It's a struggle for survival, and they have to make difficult choices between feeding their families and buying essential medicines," Silk reports. The pastors arrive as a tangible sign that God has not forgotten them.
The spiritual results have been remarkable. One woman had prayed for years for her husband to come to faith. When a pastor visited them, the impact was so powerful that the man opened his heart to the gospel and decided to follow Jesus. In another case, a group of new believers living in profound isolation had prayed for a Christian to visit them. When a pastor miraculously arrived at their door, they saw God's direct answer.
The ministry's goal is to provide help and walk alongside those who suffer. "We cannot take away their suffering, but we can make sure they never suffer alone." Pray for wisdom and protection for the pastors traveling across Iran, and for perseverance for believers facing growing challenges.
