The war in Lebanon has displaced more than 1.2 million people, about 20% of a population of 5.8 million. Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon killed 17 people, while Hezbollah continued attacking Israeli troops. Against this backdrop, the Christian organization SAT-7, which broadcasts the gospel via satellite television across the Middle East, is reaching displaced children with a message of hope: "You Are Not Alone."
SAT-7's program of the same name recently aired an episode created by children for children fleeing violence. SAT-7 USA president John Cerniglia explains: "We have the opportunity to share the gospel with children through content that is appropriate for them, simply reminding them of the biblical truth that you are not alone." Families staying in host homes hope to return to their homes in the south when the conflict ends.
One of the ministry's most powerful projects was born in extraordinary circumstances. The SAT-7 team in Beirut recorded a children's song called "Your Peace, Jesus, Is Our Joy" as bombs fell on the city. The response was astonishing: children began calling the studios and singing the song back to them. "This message is spreading: you can have peace in Jesus even when there is no peace on earth."
Pray that displaced children will experience the comfort and hope of Christ. Ask God to strengthen believers serving amid the conflict in Lebanon. Pray that many families will find Jesus through SAT-7, and thank the Lord for His faithfulness, for even as bombs fall, His peace remains.
