Azerbaijan

Unreached people groups

An overview of the country's people groups, focusing on those who still have little or no access to the gospel in their own language and culture.

Overview

Azerbaijan is home to dozens of ethnic groups, the vast majority of them Muslim and still without meaningful access to the gospel. Besides the Azerbaijanis, who form the majority, there are peoples such as the Talysh in the south, the Lezgi and Avars in the north and other Caucasus groups. The Christian presence is minimal and concentrated in the Russian and Armenian minorities, leaving many peoples for whom the name of Christ remains virtually unknown.
