Bonaire is an island with a Christian majority, a strong Catholic heritage, and a growing Protestant and evangelical minority. The great challenge is not the absence of the church, but nominal religiosity, the syncretism of brua, and growing secularism. The population is small and relatively open to the gospel, but it needs deep discipleship and a personal, living faith in Christ.
