An overview of the country's people groups, focusing on those who still have little or no access to the gospel in their own language and culture.

Overview

Cambodia is home to 38 distinct people groups, of which 16 are classified as unreached by the gospel, representing 98.3% of the total population. The Khmer people, the majority group with about 15.6 million people, remain classified as unreached, with less than 2% evangelicals within their own ethnicity. The Western Cham people, a Muslim majority group, number approximately 269,000 people without access to the gospel. The Khmer Krom, the Lao, the Han Chinese, and dozens of highland minorities in the northeast complete the mosaic of peoples still waiting for messengers.
