Overview

Ecuador is a majority Christian nation, but it is still home to peoples with little access to the gospel, especially in the Amazon. Indigenous groups such as the Waorani, Achuar, Cofán and isolated Quichua communities maintain a strong connection to ancestral traditions and do not always have the Scriptures in their own language. While the evangelical church flourishes among the Otavalos and in the cities, part of these jungle peoples remain a priority for prayer and outreach.
