Guyana

Unreached people groups

An overview of the country's people groups, focusing on those who still have little or no access to the gospel in their own language and culture.

Overview

Guyana has about 17 people groups, and almost all already have a significant Christian presence. The Indo-Guyanese, mostly Hindu and Muslim, form the largest group and the main challenge for the gospel. Few peoples remain considered unreached, and the mission frontier includes remote indigenous communities in the interior and Urdu speakers. The greatest needs lie less in the absence of churches and more in faithful witness amid strong religious traditions.
