Overview

Mali is home to about 72 people groups, and most of them still have no established evangelical church of their own. The Bambara, the country's largest group, give their name to the most widely spoken language, but remain mostly Muslim and unreached by the gospel. Peoples such as the Tuareg and the Fulani (Peul), traditionally nomads of the desert and the Sahel, have very few followers of Christ. More than 9 out of every 10 Malians belong to a people group still classified as unreached.
