New Caledonia

Unreached people groups

An overview of the country's people groups, focusing on those who still have little or no access to the gospel in their own language and culture.

Overview

New Caledonia has 43 catalogued people groups, including the Kanak people (divided into several languages and tribes), descendants of European settlers, Polynesian, Asian and other Pacific communities. According to Joshua Project, none of these groups is currently considered unreached: the vast majority already has some church presence, although discipleship and the maturity of the faith vary greatly from tribe to tribe and island to island.
