Overview

The Pitcairn Islands have a single people, the Pitcairn Islanders themselves, descendants of the Bounty mutineers and Tahitian women. Almost the entire population identifies as Christian, linked to the Seventh-day Adventist tradition, but Joshua Project classifies this people as partially reached: the faith is, to a large extent, cultural inheritance, not a personal commitment and mature discipleship renewed in each generation. There is no unreached people in the territory, but the challenge of spiritual depth and continuity of the church is real.
