Overview

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has six catalogued people groups, and none of them is considered unreached: all already have some meaningful Christian presence. The Afro-Vincentian people, who make up the vast majority of the population, are predominantly Christian. The people group farthest from the gospel is the East Indian, descendants of workers brought from India in the 19th century, who still today keep much of their identity tied to Hinduism. The Garifuna, descendants of the Black Caribs exiled in the past, preserve a distinct identity even though they are now a small minority on the island that was once their home.
