Overview

Timor-Leste has 21 catalogued ethnic groups, most already with some Christian presence, inherited from the long Portuguese colonization. Even so, much of the population lives out a faith strongly marked by mixture with traditional lulik rites, which classifies them as "superficially" or "partially" reached rather than as fully discipled communities. The only group considered unreached in the country is the deaf community, without access to the Bible or a church in its own sign language.
