An overview of the country's people groups, focusing on those who still have little or no access to the gospel in their own language and culture.
Tonga is one of the most gospel reached countries in the world. The country's four people groups (the Tongan, the Niuafo'ou, the Niuatoputapu and the Eurasian) already have access to the Bible, established churches and a significant evangelical presence. There is no unreached people group (a group with little or no access to the gospel) within the territory. Tonga's challenge is not to bring the gospel for the first time, but to deepen discipleship within the country and to reach the large Tongan diaspora scattered across Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
