Who they are

The Achuar are an indigenous people who inhabit the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin, living along rivers between Ecuador and Peru. With a strong connection to the land and community life, they preserve their ancestral traditions, the Achuar-Shiwiar language and a deep spirituality rooted in the natural elements of the rainforest. They live by hunting, fishing and traditional farming, valuing family harmony and the wisdom of their elders.
