Who they are
The Macaguán of Agualinda are an indigenous people living in the plains and riverbanks of the Colombian llanos, in the Orinoco basin. Belonging to the Guajiboan linguistic family, they keep their traditional language alive amidst major territorial transformations. Although part of their community already professes the Christian faith, they seek to preserve their culture, oral history, and livelihood connected to the land and forest.
