People
The Aguna live in Benin and Togo. In Benin, they live around the village of Agouna, in the municipality of Djidja, and in other areas in the south of the country. In a 2002 survey in Benin, they identified themselves as a distinct people, and there is very little variation within the Aguna language. After Aguna, the language they used most was Fon, and these were the two languages they preferred for learning to read. Traditional religions have more followers than Christianity or Islam.
