Who they are
The Ambandi live in Taraba State, mainly in the Karim Lamido area, and also in Bauchi, Nigeria, in at least 21 villages. Ambandi is the name the people use for themselves; their neighbors sometimes call them Piya. Their language, Piya-Kwonci, includes the Piya and Kwonci varieties. Most follow traditional religions. Christians are a minority, and a smaller group practices Islam.
