Who they are
The Ambattan are a traditional Tamil-speaking community in South Asia, historically associated with personal care occupations, barbering, and ritual roles in their villages. Although they preserve deep community ties and a distinct cultural heritage, many still face social stigma linked to their historical occupation. Most practice folk Hinduism, while smaller groups have come into contact with the Christian faith.
