Who they are

The Arabized Kadaru inhabit mainly the hills of the Nuba Mountains region in Sudan. With roots in ancient Nubian heritage, this subgroup adopted the Arabic language and many Arab customs over generations of contact and cultural assimilation. They traditionally make their living from agriculture and livestock raising, preserving their connection to the land while maintaining a community identity strongly shaped by local Islamic traditions.
