Who they are

The Aragure are an Indigenous Kanak community native to New Caledonia, living mainly in the valleys and rural areas of the main island. They preserve the Xaragure language and maintain close ties to the land, community life, and ancient customary clan structures, while also living with the influence of modern society and the region’s long Christian heritage.
