Arbereshe life is closely tied to agriculture, the cultivation of olive groves and vineyards, and the preservation of traditional crafts. Distributed across dozens of small towns and mountain villages, they host vibrant community festivals marked by traditional costumes embroidered with gold and polyphonic singing passed down through generations. Family solidarity and generous hospitality remain essential cornerstones of social life.
The vast majority adheres to Byzantine-rite Catholicism, belonging to the Italo-Albanian Church. Faith is central to their cultural survival and is expressed through rich liturgies, sacred icons, and solemn celebrations. For many, however, religiosity has become a mark of ethnic and heritage identity, often lacking personal discipleship centered on the grace of Jesus.
