Who they are
The Ayoreo are an indigenous people who traditionally inhabit the dense, dry forests of the Gran Chaco, between Bolivia and Paraguay. Historically hunter-gatherers with a profound connection to the land, they have faced rapid social changes in recent decades. Today, while preserving their language and communal values, they seek to protect their ancestral lands and strengthen their Christian faith amidst the pressures of the modern world.
