The Bamileke-Fefe live in Cameroon’s West Region, in Haut-Nkam Division, mainly around the town of Bafang. They are part of the Bamileke peoples. Their language is also called Fe’efe’e or Nufi and belongs to the group of languages of the Grassfields, the highlands of western Cameroon.
The language began to be written in the 1920s, when Christian texts, a grammar and word lists were prepared.

In the tradition of the Grassfields peoples, the week has eight days, and each day takes its name from an activity or event associated with that day. Some children’s names are linked to the day on which they were born. Fe’efe’e surnames also preserve memories of family events and the circumstances of birth.
Most Bamileke-Fefe are Christians, while some follow traditional religions.
