Who they are
The Bandial are a subgroup of the Jola people living in the Casamance region of southwestern Senegal. Known for traditional rice cultivation in flooded fields and a strong communal life, they preserve ancestral customs and a language of their own. Although most profess Islam, traditional beliefs remain part of daily life, shaping their decisions and family ceremonies.
