Baure

The Baure are an indigenous people originating from the plains of the Beni department, in the Bolivian Amazon. Historically known for their sophisticated pre-Columbian agricultural engineering works and their language of the Arawak family, they preserve a rich cultural heritage tied to the region’s rivers and forests. Today, they seek to protect their identity and pass on their traditions to younger generations.
