Who they are
The Belide are an indigenous people inhabiting the southern lands of Sumatra, Indonesia. Integrated into the Musi cultural group, they live primarily in rural villages dedicated to agriculture, such as rice cultivation and rubber tapping. Their community identity is marked by strong family bonds and an almost unanimous devotion to Islam, which guides their customs, traditions, and social life.
