Who they are

The Betaf are a small Indigenous people who inhabit the forests and river basins of Papua Province on the island of New Guinea. With deep ties to the land and to community life in their villages, they preserve oral traditions and their native language within their families.

Although they have had historical contact with Christianity, there is still a great need for in-depth discipleship and biblical materials in their own language.
