Who they are
The Biao Mien are a subgroup of the Yao people living in mountainous regions of southern China. With their own language and a deep attachment to ancestral traditions, they maintain a closely-knit community identity shaped by reverence for ancient customs and agricultural life on the hillsides. Animism and ancestor worship continue to define daily life, while access to the message of Jesus remains extremely limited among their villages.
