Who they are

The Biritai are a small Indigenous people who live in the forests and along the rivers of the Papua region of Indonesia. Living in isolated villages, they preserve traditional practices centered on hunting, fishing, and basic subsistence farming. Their mother tongue is essential to their cultural identity, passing on ancestral knowledge amid the challenges of geographical isolation.
