Who they are
The Bunuo are a subgroup of the Yao people who inhabit the mountainous regions of southern China. Guardians of ancestral traditions and of their own language belonging to the Hmong-Mien family, they preserve a unique community culture in rural villages. Their relative geographic isolation has kept alive the practices inherited from their ancestors, passed down from generation to generation through oral tradition.
