Who they are
The Butuanon are an ethnolinguistic group native to northern Mindanao in the Philippines, historically settled along the fertile Agusan River valley. Heirs to an ancient maritime trading tradition that predates the arrival of colonizers, they keep their community identity alive while seeking to preserve their language and customs as dominant regional languages gain ground.
