Who they are

The cakfem-mushere are a community living in the highlands of Plateau State, in central Nigeria. Members of the Chadic linguistic group, they preserve rich oral traditions and sustain themselves primarily through family farming. Although the vast majority of the population formally identifies with Christianity, many still face the challenge of integrating biblical faith with customs and practices inherited from their ancestors.
