Who they are

The Chané are an indigenous people inhabiting the plains of the Gran Chaco, especially in northern Argentina and southern Bolivia. Of Arawak roots, over the centuries they assimilated cultural elements and the Guarani language. They are recognized for their deep attachment to the land, their artistic skill with ceramics and wood, and a community life preserved amidst social and environmental challenges.
