Who they are

The Chara Fachara, also called Cara, live in villages in the Bassa area of Plateau State, Nigeria, and speak the Cara language. They are farmers, and maize is their main crop; many also work in trade and mining. Most follow traditional religions; Christians and Muslims are minorities. Churches mainly use the Hausa Bible, and the church is growing steadily, though much of this growth is nominal.
