Who they are
The Chulym Tatars are a small indigenous people of Turkic origin who inhabit the banks of the Chulym River in Siberia. Traditionally engaged in fishing, hunting in the taiga and gathering, they face intense cultural assimilation. Although most use Russian in everyday life, they preserve a shared memory rooted in the forests and rivers of their ancestral homeland.
