Who they are
The Cochin Jews form an ancient Jewish community on the southern coast of India, in the region of Kerala. They speak Malayalam and maintain traditions that date back to centuries of presence along the Indian Ocean. A large portion migrated to Israel, and those who remain preserve synagogues and customs of a Judaism rooted in Indian culture.
