Who they are
The Cuyamecalco Mixtec are an indigenous community living in the mountains of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico. With a strong bond to the land and the customs inherited from their ancestors, they preserve their own variant of the Mixtec language in everyday family life. Their community life is shaped by traditional agriculture and mutual cooperation among families in the villages.
