People
Who they are
The Daizhan are a small indigenous people of China, living in villages across Yunnan province. They are part of the larger Yi ethnic group and have Tibeto-Burman linguistic roots. The life of the Daizhan is marked by ancient ethnic beliefs that guide their relationship with nature, ancestors, and the community. Many traditional customs have been lost over time, but the people still seek to keep their identity alive.
