Who they are

The Dangarik are a Dardic community living in the mountainous valleys of Chitral, in northern Pakistan. Speakers of the Palula language, they preserve ancestral customs amidst the rugged terrain of the Hindu Kush mountain range. Their collective identity is deeply shaped by village community life and the practice of Sunni Islam, which governs their social traditions.
