The Daya form an indigenous community inhabiting the southern lands of the island of Sumatra, in Indonesia. Integrated into the Lampung cultural group, they communicate primarily through the Lampung Api language and maintain ancient traditions tied to farming and community life. For the Daya, Islamic faith and ethnic identity go hand in hand in the daily life of the village.
