Who they are
The Dirya are an indigenous people living mainly in Bauchi State in northern Nigeria. Part of the Chadic language family, they preserve a strong agricultural and communal heritage in their traditional villages. The group’s identity is strongly shaped by the Islamic faith and ancestral customs, leaving very few opportunities for them to hear the message of grace.
