Who they are

The Dongotono live in Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan, in the Ikotos area. Homes in their villages are close together, and family and clan ties shape community life. Families grow sorghum, peanuts and sweet potatoes, and raise cattle, sheep and goats. There are Christians among the Dongotono, but traditional beliefs are also part of the people’s religious life.
