Who they are
The Fernandino Creoles live on Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea. Their history is linked to Africans from Freetown, Sierra Leone, who arrived on the island in 1827, when it was called Fernando Po. They speak Pichi, a creole language with much of its vocabulary derived from English. Most are Catholic, at least in name, and there is an Evangelical minority. A small proportion have no religion.
