Who they are

The Tornedalen Finns inhabit the historical region of the Torne River Valley, along the natural border between northern Sweden and Finland. With a strong cultural heritage and their own language, Meänkieli, they preserve traditions tied to the forest, rivers, and Arctic life. Although much of the community maintains historical Christian roots, many live a formal and secularized faith, in need of a vibrant spiritual renewal in their daily lives.
