The Gakkhar are a historical clan inhabiting the Potohar plateau and neighboring mountainous areas in northern Pakistan. Known in the past for their martial leadership and celebrated regional fortresses, they preserve a strong community identity and speak the Hindko language. Today, they engage in agriculture, military service, and trade, maintaining deep kinship bonds and firm devotion to Islam.
