The Germans of Colonia Tovar are descendants of European settlers who established themselves in the mountains of Venezuela during the nineteenth century. Living in relative geographic isolation for several generations, they have preserved ancestral customs, agricultural techniques, and their own Germanic dialect. Although they maintain historical Christian traditions in their daily routines, many know faith merely as a cultural heritage and lack a personal experience with Christ.
