Who they are
The Gilika are an Indigenous community living in the remote mountains of Papua, Indonesia, in the western part of the island of New Guinea. Living in villages nestled in highland forests, they farm the land together as families and preserve their traditions. Although most acknowledge the Christian faith, animist beliefs and fear of spirits still influence daily life, making consistent biblical discipleship in their mother tongue essential.
