The Guiqiong are an indigenous people of the mountains of western China, living in narrow valleys between the high peaks of Sichuan. They speak their own language, distinct from Tibetan, and therefore preserve a unique identity despite being surrounded by Tibetan culture. They are known for a life tied to the land and to traditions handed down from generation to generation.
