Who they are
The Hindu Barwala live in northern India, positioned within the region’s Dalit social structure. Historically associated with manual labor, agricultural tasks, and rural services, they preserve community traditions tied to the land and their local Hinduism. Hindi and regional dialects shape the daily lives of families, who face historical legacies of marginalization as they seek dignity and sustenance.
